Artist Glenn Lutz Has Released a Book Examining Black Masculinity, Identity and Mental Well-Being

Featuring contributions from a number of influential figures, such as the late-Virgil Abloh, Mark Bradford, Rashid Johnson and more.

Glenn Lutz is an author and conceptual artist who examines topics such as identity, spirituality, mental health, and the cause and effect of the injustices faced by the Black community.

In the past, he has explored a wide number creative disciplines, including performance, photography, sculpture and hip-hop under the alias, Zenn Lu — along with founding LIORAFFE, an independent publishing firm dedicated to producing high-quality art books centered around his practice.

LIORAFFE will be releasing its first publication called There’s Light: Artworks & Conversations Examining Black Masculinity, Identity and Mental Well-being. The book features an expansive series of artworks and interviews showcasing the intricacies of contemporary Black male identities, which aims to shed light on ways of overcoming inherited trauma, systemic racism and social injustices, establishing oneself as a Black male artist and offering avenues for hope.

There’s Light features an incredible range of contributions from the late Virgil Abloh, Tunji Adeniyi-Jones, Mark Bradford, Wyatt Cenac, Barkley Hendricks, Rashid Johnson, Glenn Ligon, Steve McQueen, Tyler Mitchell, Darnell L. Moore, Pope.L, and many more.

The book is available to pre-order now for $69.99 at Barnes & Noble and will release globally on July 12.
