There’s a New Digital Art Gallery in the 50th Street Station in Times Square

The inaugural exhibition opens on Friday, May 20.

Public Works Administration is a burgeoning art space that will be located underground in the 50th Street station in Times Square. Centered around digital art, the gallery will unveil its first exhibition, “In Transit,” this Friday, May 20, from 6 to 10pm EST.

Founded by Sam Black and Alison Sirico of marketing agency, BLKMKT, the new gallery seeks to spotlight an often-overlooked corner of NYC that thousands of commuters move through everyday. The inaugural exhibition will showcase the high-sensory and frenetic artwork of Astrosuka, Peter Burr, Hypereikon, Sofja, Kitasavi, and Yoshi Sodeoka.

Each dynamic artwork will be displayed against the gallery’s glass-window storefront in a manner that urges the busy commuters to slow and down and process the often-overlooked details of daily life.

“In Transit” will be on view from May 20 to June 10. To accompany the opening, there will be special guest performances and programming all throughout the exhibition’s run. In order to attend, you must RSVP here.
