Felipe Pantone Presents a Kaleidoscope of Color at London’s Greenwich Peninsula

The Argentinian-Spanish artist’s first UK installation.

Greenwich Peninsula is a burgeoning modern landscape in south-east London. Situated along the Thames river, between the Isle of Dogs and Silvertown, the development will be a new residential and business community with 48 acres of open public space emerging over the coming years.

Acclaimed Argentinian-Spanish artist Felipe Pantone has been commissioned to transform one of the areas elevated walkways into an alluring journey from the Peninsula Square to the Thames Path. Well-known for his vibrant refracting aesthetic made up of glitchy textures, the latest work is partly inspired by an earlier study, SUBTRACTIVE VARIABILITY, which explores how the displacement of the light spectrum impacts color.

Housed at The Tide, the aptly named Quick Tide is the artist’s first UK installation and incorporates a mixture of vinyl to transform the angular shapes of the walkway — providing visitors with unique perspectives and experiences depending on the time of day and their location.

Quick Tide is free and will open to the public tomorrow, May 6. To learn more information about Greenwich Peninsula, please visit the project’s website.
