Koji Yamaguchi Shines A "Small Light" In The Darkness With Latest Solo Exhibition

Inspired by his hometown of Kawasaki, Japan.

Following his recent exhibition with BAF Studio Tokyo, Koji Yamaguchi looks to present a new solo showcase of paintings to be held in a factory found in Kawasaki, Japan.

The Japanese artist returned from New York back in 2018 and has since painted dreamy landscape visuals of his homeland which were inspired by the scenery he experienced while cruising around on his skateboard. As per Yamaguchi himself, he looks back toward the city he spent most of his childhood in after hopping around various lands.

Utilizing the current season and setting of the warehouse factory, Yamaguchi’s latest works present the theme of light existing in the space of darkness which exudes a feeling of desolation. Through its simplicity and enormity, the collection provides the viewer a chance to solely appreciate the beauty within its impressions.

The “Small Light” exhibition will be on view from April 30 to May 4 through an appointment-based system. For more details, head over to Pingpaling’s website.
