NASCAR Taps Joshua Vides for Collaborative Skate Decks, Apparel and More

The auto company turned Reality to Idea’s car design into an actual racecar.

NASCAR has tapped into the design world of artist Joshua VidesReality to Idea, a production house based in Southern California that fuses streetwear and graphic design through collaboration. In partnership, the two labels have cooked up an eclectic assortment of products, ranging from T-shirts and trucker hats to skate decks and custom cars.

In terms of apparel, the collection opens with a Reality to Idea-branded T-shirt that dons a bright graphic reading “PAINT CREW,” alongside an illustration of a racecar and the number “89.” There’s also a race-ready trucker hat that boasts NASCAR’s signature checkered-flag motifs, and a bevy of colorful, branded pins.

The lineup also includes two custom skate decks. The former enlists a signature black-and-white illustration from Vides, which depicts a dual-stamped racecar atop a carved, wooden board. The latter utilizes the same graphic but without any white coloring.

Rounding out the collaboration, NASCAR transformed a Reality to Idea car design into an actual racecar. The vehicle is plastered with Vides’ artwork, complete with “RTI Racing” lettering, iconographic traffic cone depictions and an enlarged “89” on its side.

The NASCAR x Joshua Vides collection is available to shop on Reality to Ideas’ website. Prices range from $40 USD to $100 USD. Take a look at the full collaboration in the gallery above.
