Tomás Sánchez to Release ‘En El Paisaje Interior’ With Avant Arte

Available to purchase for 24 hours only on January 27.

It’s easy to get lost in the art of Tomás Sánchez. Picturesque waterfalls, towering trees — some of the many ethereal scenes that are subtly informed by the sociopolitical landscape of his native Cuba.

In partnership with Avant Arte, Sánchez will release an intricate new print, titled En el paisaje interior (the inner landscape.) The artwork reflects the spiritual underpinning that is central to the Cuban artist’s practice — where he seeks to connect the serenity tangible within the work not only with nature, but with our own capacity for meditation. The composition of the piece itself evokes a verdant cathedral, where the lone figure lies submerged within an ever-expanding world.

En el paisaje interior is printed using archival pigment on 305gsm Hahnemühle Photo Rag Ultra Smooth paper. The edition is signed and numbered by the artist and will be available to purchase for only 24 hours on January 27 at 9am PST. Avant Arte uses this format to open up access to major artists work for their fans and collectors who might not otherwise be able to afford their art, by offering them the chance to acquire a work within that 24hr window at a more accessible price point, including free shipping.
