‘A Few of My Favorites’ Explores the Storytelling Behind Armando Alleyne’s Art

Published by Edition Patrick Frey.

Armando Alleyne is a New York-based artist best known for depicting Afro-Latin musicians in a vibrant collage aesthetic.

Published by Edition Patrick Frey, A Few of My Favorites chronicles Alleyne’s extensive background, placing special emphasis on the intimate paintings he made of his family, friends and the many stories that shaped him as a person. The weighty softcover book features both artwork and poems that recount a number of seminal, sensual and political events, such as his experiences with homelessness and losing his sister to the AIDS epidemic.

Chief amongst Alleyne’s practice is the belief that we are all subject to our city and how within it, we can search for the tools to heal. A Few of My Favorites is available to purchase for $60 USD via Actual Source.
