Steven Harrington to Release His First Screenprint of 2021

Entitled ‘Head In The Clouds.’

Famed California artist, Steven Harrington, is set to release his first screen print of 2021. Entitled, Head In The Clouds, the large hand-pulled screenprint directly references his 2020 painting of the same name, which exhibited last year at the MIMA contemporary art museum, located in Brussels.

Measuring at 32” wide by 40” tall, Head In The Clouds is printed on 320gsm Coventry Rag paper with deckled edges and is limited to just 120 prints. As always, the edition is signed and numbered by the artist and comes neatly packaged with a Certificate of Authenticity. Speaking on the work, Harrington told Hypebeast:

“I first painted Head In The Clouds for my installation at the MIMA Museum of Art (Brussels) back in 2020. That was a year of deep ‘self-reflection’ for everyone around the world; I wanted to also include my art characters in this personal conversation. From there I intuitively started exploring these large ‘self-reflection’ paintings and I liked the idea of placing ‘Mello’ outside of the canvas while still living within the painting. ‘Where would we go from here,’ we thought, and ‘how can we help create change for the better…’”

Steven Harrington’s Head In The Clouds screenprint releases on July 30th at 12:00pm PST. To be on top of it, be sure to sign up to the artist’s “Early Art-Drop List.”
