Rex's "American Spirit" Highlights the American Way

Centered around monuments to excess and self-destruction.

Following his first solo exhibition in Tokyo with Kaikai Kiki, Tyler Rexiesen, better known as Rex, is now set to present his latest works in Los Angeles.

Dubbed “American Spirit,” the upcoming solo showing sees Rex return to his home of LA to showcase a new series of work highlighting the American way. Works serve as monuments to excess and self-destruction building on the visual themes synonymous with his standout portfolio. The pieces set to be on display focus on familiar vices, environment, and visualizing spiritual warfare and its realities. It is interesting to note that the curated selection of new works were all created out of Rex’s studio located on Los Angeles’ infamous Skid Row which also serves as a forthright inspiration for the contemporary artist.

Check out some of the works from Rex’s “American Spirit” solo exhibition above.
