Louis De Guzman has teamed up with BAIT and the iconic anime character, Astro Boy, on a new exhibition, and set of limited-edition goods.

The project developed as a way in which the artist chose to reflect during these hard times. “I intend for the viewer to question their perception of the current temperatures that they’re currently living through,” Guzman said in a statement. Life’s true beauty, according to the artist, lies “within the chaos.” The ability to move freely and channel your genuine purpose along the way.

Known for taking pop culture icons and abstracting them in a geometric pastiche, Guzman will release a limited 11-Inch Mixed Media Astro Boy Sculpture ($500 USD); along with two prints ($325 USD / $380 USD), a t-shirt ($50 USD), crewneck ($80 USD) and tote bag ($40 USD).

The “ATOM VS. ASTRO” exhibition will be on view at BAIT’s Melrose location from November 11 to 24. The capsule collection will be available to purchase next door at the BAIT Gift Shop.

Elsewhere, Sotheby’s November Sales Week is expected to garner around $1 billion USD.
