Yu Nagaba and AllRightsReserved Unveil "Be Thankful For What You Got" Exhibition

The artist’s first solo exhibition in Taipei.

AllRightsReserved and JFJ productions have just unveiled Yu Nagaba‘s first solo exhibition in Taipei.

Dubbed “Be Thankful For What You Got,” the concept of the exhibition comes from the song Be Thankful For What You Got by William DeVaughn, later covered by the Japanese artist’s favorite British band Massive Attack. The theme of the artwork is “to live in the moment” especially during the pandemic and testing times.

Showcasing 24 pieces of Yu Nagaba’s new canvas artwork, the exhibition includes a minimal rework of classic paintings, as well as homage pieces to iconic movies like Léon. The artist has also reinterpreted Pablo Picasso’s Fireplace and Henri Matisse’s The Music with motifs derived from advertisements from American Apparel. There are also a trio of  Kendama in the form of Picasso, Matisse, and Hockney.

The “Be Thankful For What You Got” art exhibition will on view until October 31. A set of brand-new silkscreen prints will be available for online raffle at DDT Store’s website.
