Case Studyo Drops 'Blockhead Stack' Editions by Eddie Martinez

Arriving in white and green patina versions.

Eddie Martinez is the Brooklyn-based artist best known for his mixed-media paintings made using spray paint and markers. His compositions feature dynamic usage of lines and manipulation of color with subject matter spotlighting distorted human figures, blockheads, skulls, interiors, and still lifes.

Case Studyo recently partnered up with Martinez on a pair of special edition sculptural pieces called Blockhead Stack. The characters first made their appearance in the artist’s work in 2005 and have seen many various iterations. “The figures represent a concise synthesis of Martinez’s artistic practice; strikingly encapsulating the many aspects of his extensive universe. They are a powerful vessel that can hold a wide range of bold concepts; from primitively existential to deliberately sophisticated but always unmistakably Eddie Martinez,” said the gallery in a statement.

Each sculpture is done up in bronze and arrives in two distinct colorways: white and green patina. Only 12 units with four artist proofs are available for each work that stand roughly 12 inches tall. Check out both editions for Blockhead Stack in the slideshow above and learn more by visiting Case Studyo’s website.
