Rizzoli to Release First-Ever Book on Mark Gonzales
Featuring intimate portraits, artworks and legendary skate tricks.
Rizzoli will release a monograph this September paying homage to the iconic skateboarder and artist, Mark Gonzales. The hardcover photography book features stunning portraits celebrated Spanish photographer, Sem Rubio. The comprehensive tome also features intimate interviews with Spike Jonze, Hiroshi Fujiwara, KAWS, Ed Templeton, Tommy Guerrero, Tony Hawk, Blondey McCoy, Gus Van Sant and more. Not to mention, his long-standing collaborations with brands including adidas, Supreme, Thrasher, Etudes, among others are all featured in the in-depth volume.
Gonz is widely-considered to be the father of modern skating. He was named the most influential skateboarder of all time by Transworld Skateboarding Magazine in 2011. His imaginative street skating style is what separated him from his talented peers, influencing upcoming generations of skaters. Aside from skateboarding, the Gonz creates works of art, poetry and films that shed light on his everyday life. Not to mention,

The 208-paged book is set to release this September 22 on Rizzoli’s website and select stockists for approximately $50 USD each.
