Yavez Anthonio Launches Print Sale to Benefit Justice Organizations
Portraiture, still lifes and landscapes by the New York-based photographer and filmmaker.

New York-based photographer and filmmaker Yavez Anthonio is launching a print sale with forty percent of proceeds to benefit the Black Visions Collective and the Okra Project. The Black Visions Collective is a nonprofit organization that focuses on advancing Black lives through healing and transformative justice. The Okra Project is assisting marginalized communities by providing Black Trans people with meals and resources.
Anthonio releases six original works spanning the genres of conceptual photography, landscape, still life and portraiture. “The subjects in my work are primarily people and sceneries with a sense of nostalgia that I want to remember. As a photographer I aim to tell visual stories by highlighting personalities and emotions. This is in my opinion visible in the photo of the two wearing all red holding hands, it feels like they are never going to let go and their bond is forever,” said Anthonio to HYPEBEAST.
Aside from his personal projects, Anthonio is also involved in plenty of wide-ranging collaborations including the likes of Nike, Filling Pieces, adidas and GAP. While Anthonio specializes in multiple styles of video and photo-based work, he has always been drawn to capturing portraits. In regards to his profound interest in portraiture, he expressed: “I’ve always been a people person and that’s played a big role in me being drawn to portraiture. While I shoot I always like to talk about all sorts of subjects and connect with the person in front of the lens and capture their personality.”
Each print measures 11 by 14 inches and are available to purchase on Yavez Anthonio’s website for $250 USD apiece.
Elsewhere in art, London-based artist and publisher Theo White released a new limited publication called 6FT that celebrates the Black Queer community.
