Fotografiska New York's Anticipated Reopening Has Been Postponed (UPDATE)

Those who purchased tickets will be given refunds or credit to reschedule visits.

UPDATE (July 22, 2020): Following recent reports that New York City’s Phase 4 plan will no longer include the reopening of Indoor Arts & Entertainment Venues, Fotografiska New York’s public reopening — originally scheduled for July 29 — has been delayed until further notice.

“The museum will announce a new reopening date as soon as possible and in accordance with city and state regulations,” said Fotografiska in a statement. “Our guest services team will be in contact with ticket buyers to offer a refund or a credit to reschedule their visit. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to welcoming back the Fotografiska community soon.”

ORIGINAL STORY (July 15, 2020): After shuttering its doors due to the ongoing conoravirus pandemic, Fotografiska New York is finally reopening for public visitors later this month.

Of course, with COVID-19 still very much a problem, the photography museum has vowed to keep its guests as safe as possible by enacting various restrictions to keep exposure to the virus as low as possible. Any admission to the museum will be on a timed entry basis, done over half-hour increments, and the total capacity will be decreased down to just 25 percent. There’ll also be enhanced hygiene measures, and all visitors and staff will have to wear face masks when inside the building. Temperature checks will be administered at the entrance, and a social distance of six feet between guest parties is mandatory.

Aside from these safety measures, Fotografiska New York is also offering special pricing for the rest of 2020. General admissions will go for $24 USD, while seniors, students, and military personnel will only have to pay $14 USD. For first responders and frontline healthcare provides, admission will be completely free of charge until the end of 2020.

For those interested in visiting, the photography museum will reopen to the public on July 29, with a member’s preview from July 24 to 26. Openings hours will go from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesdays to Sundays, while Mondays and Tuesdays will be kept for cleaning and private tours.
