1xRUN Releases Over 70 Exclusive Artist-Designed Skate Decks

Featuring works by Cyrcle, Keyin Lyons and many more.

The skateboard has been a perennial canvas for artists to express their creativity through illustrious designs and handmade artworks. Since its initial conception in the mid seventies, skaters have approached skateboards in a number of ways such as choosing boards based off the graphics, brands, shape and even color. Besides shredding them on the street or skate parks, these curved planks of wood are now recognized as works of art in fine art galleries or a collector’s item.

To commemorate the rich history and culture of skateboarding, 1xRUN recently launched a massive collection of over 70 exclusive skate decks by more than 35 artists. “Skateboard graphics have been an intriguing medium for art and design since the 1970s. As the sport of skateboarding grew mainstream, so became the skate deck as a canvas for artistic expression,” said 1xRUN in a statement.

Highlights of the collection include an original figurative work featuring an astronaut by Cyrcle, a three-deck set featuring fantastical subjects by Dan Quintana, high-fashion-inspired pieces of Goyard and Supreme by Denial, a two-deck piece spotlighting otherworldly figures and landscapes by Glenn Barr, as well as abstract and tagged up variants by Gregory Siff.

View select boards in the slideshow above and then head to 1xRUN’s website to peruse all pieces in the Go Skateboarding collection.
