Spinello Projects Launches "TIME-SENSITIVE" Exhibition and Fundraiser

“In solidarity with our black brothers and sisters, and for all those who are deemed OTHER.”

Miami-based gallery Spinello Projects is showing support for the Black Lives Matter movement with its latest “TIME-SENSITIVE” virtual exhibition and fundraiser. Launched at the beginning of Pride month, the exhibition features a diverse group of 27 artists who identify as LGBTQ+, a minority or an ally. 100 percent of the gallery’s commission from the sale of the exhibited works will go towards an organization of the artist’s choice, like the Dream Defenders, G.L.I.T.S. and Scope of Work (SOW).

Ranging from prints and paintings to installations, the works address poignant issues that have been persistent throughout history. Highlights of the exhibition include Reginald O’Neal’s evocative painting titled My Little Brother(s) Casket (2018), Eddie Arroyo’s May 29th, 2020 (2020) and Morel Doucet’s silkscreen on paper titled Melaninted (Kin of Joseph, brother of Malcolm) (2019). Aptly called “TIME-SENSITIVE,” the exhibition focuses on themes such as police brutality, inequality and social injustice.

Participating artists include Latinx artists Arroyo and Agustina Woodgate, New York-based trans artist Nash Glynn, Canadian queer painter Kris Knight and multimedia Iranian artist Raheleh Filsoofi, among many others. The online digital art event will run until June 28 on Spinello Projects’ Instagram account. Direct message Spinello Projects to purchase a work.
