From now until June 17.

New York gallery Gordon Robichaux and Los Angeles-based record label Post Present Medium have joined forces on a series of artist-designed bandanas to raise money for the Black Trans Advocacy Coalition. Each of the 22-by-22 inch bandanas feature works by six of the gallery’s artists and collaborators: Leilah Babirye, Matt Connors, Otis Houston Jr., Elisabeth Kley, Matt Paweski and Tabboo!

“The bandana project evolved as an extension of Gordon Robichaux gallery’s ongoing interest in collaboration and our dialogue with Dean Spunt, a musician and artist who has exhibited and performed at Gordon Robichaux and whose record label—Post Present Medium—recently released a vinyl album with one of our artists, Otis Houston Jr,” Robichaux explained. Vibrantly hued, the silkscreened bandanas boast a variety of designs, from abstract forms and patterns to messages and figuration.

Through June 17, all proceeds from the sale of the bandanas will be donated to BTAC. Black transgender and gender nonconforming people face some of the highest levels of discrimination of all transgender people, a new study shows. Groups like the BTAC — the only national organization led by Black trans and gender nonconforming people addressing the inequities faced by the community — are in need of support. Their work is based in peace building, community education, public policy initiatives, empowerment programs and direct services.

Retailing for $30 USD, the bandanas are available to purchase now on Post Present Medium’s website. Stay tuned for more bandanas to release throughout the summer.
