Drone Captures Enormous Black Lives Matter Street Mural in Brooklyn

Mimicking the one that went up on Washington D.C. near the White House.

This past weekend, a huge Black Lives Matter mural was painted on a section of Fulton Street in Brooklyn, New York City. The large outdoor work spans 375 feet long and is located just outside of the Billie Holiday Theatre in Restoration Plaza. The piece is similar to the one that went up in Washington D.C. near the White House, both featuring bold yellow lettering. The art project was a collaborative effort between the Billie Holiday Theatre and Councilman Robert Cornegy Jr.

Mayor de Blasio announced on Monday that traffic will be banned from the Brooklyn block where the mural is located. The mayor went on to note that these traffic restrictions are an attempt to make it easier for New Yorkers to continue anti-police brutality demonstrations that started on May 25 following the murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis cop. The traffic ban won’t be lifted until the end of the summer. A specific end date has not yet been announced.
