Acquavella Displays Works by Picasso, Ernst and More for Art Basel Online

Impressionist, modern and contemporary masters.

Art Basel’s second iteration of their Online Viewing Rooms launches this week. The virtual presentation will feature 281 galleries from 35 countries across the globe. A total of 4,000 works will be showcased online spanning paintings, sculptures, drawings, installation, and photography, as well as video and digital works.

Among the galleries participating in the second edition is New York-based Acquavella that specializes in the sale of works by impressionist, modern, and contemporary masters. Works by Balthus, George Condo, Max Ernst, Pablo Picasso, Tom Sachs, and more are on show. Highlighted works in the virtual booth include Picasso’s figurative, Personnage sur la plage 1933 artwork portraying characters on a beach made using ink and gouache on paper as well as Ernst’s dynamic La Horde 1927 oil on canvas painting that portrays haunting, mythical creatures set against e natural world to convey a sense of foreboding.

Art Basel’s Online Viewing Rooms open today with a VIP Preview through June 19 followed by public showings through June 26.

David Kordansky Gallery is also participating in Art Basel’s Online Viewing Room, presenting works by Tom of Finland, Ricky Swallow, Rashid Johnson and Deanna Lawson, among others
