Phillips to Hold First Cross-Category Online Auction "REFRESH:RELOAD"

Featuring works by KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Josh Sperling and more.

Phillips is launching its first-ever cross-category online auction called “REFRESH:RELOAD.” Assembled by its Asia team, the auction will feature a mix of collecting categories spanning contemporary art, watches and jewelry. “REFRESH: RELOAD” is a response to today’s unprecedented times and provides an opportunity to reimagine what is normal.

“Curated in two complementary parts: ‘REFRESH’ embodies a more romantic and lighthearted aesthetic, bringing together colorful and fun contemporary artworks alongside elegant jewelry and timepieces,” said Delissa Handoko, Head of Online Sales, Hong Kong, Phillips. “The second half of the sale, ‘RELOAD’ will see cutting-edge jewelry and watches offered alongside fresh, trend-setting art, editions and collectibles.”

Key pieces from the auction include Takashi Murakami’s Flower of Joy – Blackberry Madness, which could fetch up to $96,000 USD, KAWS’ 2010 UNTITLED (CLOUD), expected to sell for $45,000 USD, and Josh Sperling’s Red Squiggle estimating $30,000 USD. Other highlights include works by George Condo, Banksy, Yoshitomo Nara, Cleon Peterson and more.

“REFRESH:RELOAD” includes a total of 180 lots and will run from 12 a.m. HKT on May 20 until 6 p.m. HKT on May 28. Selected highlights will be on view at Phillips’ Hong Kong gallery by appointment only. Browse through the entire collection on Phillips’ website.
