This 'Together' Print Was Made Using a Single Puddle of Coffee

As part of a new edition by Antony Gormley to benefit mental health charities and food banks.

Amid Mental Health Awareness Week in the United Kingdom, renowned artist Antony Gormley is partnering up with White Cube on a print edition with all proceeds to benefit mental health organizations and food banks. Gormley sheds light on the global communities impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in the work titled Together as quarantine measures continue. The composition itself features varying gradations of human silhouettes made using a single puddle of coffee.

“I made this image to support some of the charities doing heroic work during this pandemic, helping people in both body and mind. These open silhouettes suggest human spaces in space. They touch each other – the touch of others, so important to us, is denied during this time of isolation,” said Gormley. ”This work was made as a single puddle of coffee. It runs through the bodies and, like blood, pools, coagulates and dries.”

Profits will go to three charities supporting people suffering the physical, financial and emotional consequences of the lockdown: One to One ProjectThe Trussell Trust, and Together for Mental Wellbeing. Head to White Cube’s website to learn more and e-mail together@whitecube.com⁣
