Artists Are Creating Murals at Home Amid Coronavirus Lockdown

As part of an ongoing Home Muralfest initiative by Void Projects.

Void Projects is a Miami-based collective dedicated to providing educational artist studio residencies and programming. The cultural platform’s latest endeavor, Home Muralfest, is enlisting artists to create murals amid coronavirus lockdown measures. Taking place through April 30, the joint effort gathers renowned artists from around the globe including Icy and Sot (Iran), Matth Velvet (France), Nemo’s (Italy), Quintessenz (Germany), among many others.

A total of 50 international artists are coming together for the quarantine-based mural festival, working in their prospective places of isolation to create live interventions across living rooms, studio walls, as well as kitchen floors. “This project aims to explore and utilise the limits that have restricted these artists from their seasonal outdoor escapades,” said the collective in a statement.

Visit Void Projects’ website to learn more and check out select work-in-progress murals in the slideshow above.

Elsewhere in art, Paris-based painter Diane Dal-Pra has teamed up with multi-disciplinary creative studio Services Généraux to transform her paintings into 3D-rendered visuals.
