Opera Gallery's #StayAtHome Campaign Spotlights Studios, Rarely Seen Works & More

Accessible via the gallery’s Instagram account.

With museums and galleries across the world finding new ways to keep the general public engaged with art, Opera Gallery has launched a #StayAtHome campaign with support from artists like Lita Cabellut, John Helton, Feng Xia-Min and more. Exclusive videos and images will be posted twice a week on Opera Gallery’s Instagram account, offering a sneak peek of studios, works-in-progress and recently completed artworks.

Highlights of the campaign include a closer look at Helton’s sculptures that celebrate the energy in the world with forms that seem to defy gravity and redefine space, as well as views inside of the studio of Iranian contemporary artist Golnaz Fathi. Trained as a calligrapher, she transforms known language into form and composition, creating an imaginary language rooted in Persian tradition. The campaign also offers a look at never-before-seen artworks, such as self-taught artist David Kim Whittaker’s 36 new pieces that explore the artist’s gender dysphoria.

Opera Gallery’s Hong Kong location is currently open with increased safety and health measures implemented for staff and visitors. For those still self-isolating, stay up to date with the #StayAtHome activation via Opera Gallery’s Instagram.

In other news, Mick Rock has announced the release of five rarely-seen images of David Bowie, Kate Moss, and more.
