Avenue des Arts Spotlights Works by Brett Crawford, Matt Gondek & More

As part of a virtual exhibition called “Without Warning.”

Los Angeles-based gallery, Avenue des Arts, is launching a virtual group show called “Without Warning.” The exhibition was initially going to kick off at the Urban Art Fair in Paris, but the fair has been postponed due to shelter-in-place measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

A total of 15 visual artists from the gallery’s roster will take part in the collective installment including Matt Gondek, Brett Crawford, UFO907, Angeles Agrela, and more. Highlights include Crawford’s L1T painting inspired by Pinocchio, Gondek’s Corona painting the features Astro Boy battling a Bart Simpson-looking monster, and a minimalist figurative painting of a female subject surrounded by animals by Suzuki Takako.

The virtual opening reception will take place on Avenue des Arts’ Instagram account this April 25 at 2 PM PST. One by one, the artists join in on an Instagram live session to discuss how their works for the show and how they are coping COVID-19.

In other virtual shows, MCA Chicago will bring Nigerian artist Duro Olowu’s multimedia exhibition online.
