KAWS, Virgil Abloh & More Create Designs for 'WE RISE' Sketchbook

As part of Library Street Collective’s food and art initiative for Detroit public school students.

Detroit-based art gallery Library Street Collective has teamed up with Standby bar & restaurant, Forgotten Harvest, and the Downtown Boxing Gym on a food and art initiative. The collaborators will provide free dinners alongside a limited edition coloring book with sketches designed by renowned artists to kids in need during the coronavirus pandemic. This collaborative effort was realized after restaurants and schools closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

“This initiative will provide food to kids most in need in our community while using art as a catalyst to inspire and empower,” said Anthony Curis, co-founder of Library Street Collective and partner in Standby, in a statement. “At the same time, it enables our dedicated staff at Standby – as well as the team members of our partner establishments, Deluxx Fluxx and the Skip – to continue working during this turbulent time and forced closure.”

All of the meals will arrive with a copy of the WE ALL RISE a coloring sketchbook featuring drawings from Shephard Fairey, Virgil Abloh, Tiff Massey, KAWS, Charles McGee, Nick Cave, Allie McGhee, McArthur Binion, and many more.

Get a closer look at the WE ALL RISE coloring sketchbook in the slideshow above and visit the Library Street Collective’s website to learn more about the initiative.
