Dylan Gebbia-Richards to Unveil Eruptive Wax Paintings at GR Gallery
Merging the macroscopic and microscopic.

This month, Colorado-based artist Dylan Gebbia-Richards is bringing 16 new works to New York’s GR Gallery. Entitled “Viridescent,” the exhibition will showcase a collection of his signature multi-colored wax pieces in varying sizes. For the first time ever, Gebbia-Richards will also display experimental glass works that were developed last year during his residency at Bullseye Glass project in Portland.
“Viridescent” forces the viewer to step back and appreciate the large scale and textural qualities of Gebbia-Richards’ new paintings. Inspired by the vastness of the natural world, Gebbia-Richards explores aesthetics that merge between the macroscopic and microscopic. His three-dimensional works resemble mini landscapes, built up from melted wax and colored pigment on canvas that create a range of striking colors, textures, and patterns.
Take a closer look at works from “Viridescent” in the slideshow above. The exhibition will launch March 18 and run until April 18.
Elsewhere in art, New York City’s The Hole is exhibiting oil paintings and neon wall pieces by Dan Attoe.
