Daniel Arsham Crafts Eroded Basketballs, Telephones & More for Limited Edition Dior Collection
A reinterpretation of the artist’s ‘Future Relics’ series.

Last month, Dior released its highly-anticipated collection — which ranged from eroded Dior oblique jacquard T-shirts to a pair of B23 sneakers — in collaboration with Daniel Arsham. Continuing their partnership, the duo has unveiled a series of art objects that are available for sale in a limited edition.
Inspired by Arsham’s installation for the Dior Men’s 2020 show in Paris last June, the collection includes a sculpture spelling out the word “DIOR,” a replica of Christian Dior’s telephone and a branded basketball. Studded with crystals, Christian Dior’s 1951 book, Je suis couturier, resembles an archaeological relic, while a Dior clock receives the same eroded treatment. The latest collection reinterprets the artist’s Future Relics series, which illustrates how everyday objects will become obsolete in the future.
While Kim Jones has collaborated with KAWS, Hajime Sorayama, and Raymond Pettibon in the past, the recent collaboration marks the first time that a Dior brand partnership has extended into collectible objects. The Dior x Daniel Arsham collection will be available later this month at Dior stores. Each piece will come in an old-fashioned wooden crate, complete with an hourglass and white gloves.
Elsewhere in the art world, Reginald Sylvester II is bringing his abstract paintings and “stampings” to New York City’s James Fuentes Gallery.
