Jean & Nicolas Jullien to Hold Joint Exhibition at Galerie Slika

The brothers draw inspiration from a family home in France.

Acclaimed French artist Jean Jullien is holding a joint exhibition at Lyon’s Galerie Slika with his brother Nicolas Jullien. Entitled “Les Sources,” the brothers’ second exhibit at the gallery showcases how the two artists have found autonomy from each other and are able to expand their own respective practices.

From antiques and pear trees to porcelain and tapestries, the Jullien brothers draw inspiration from a family home named Les Sources. Some of the artwork shown at “Les Sources” take direct inspiration from these objects, while others embody the “deep sense of poetry” that continues to characterize the artists’ work. Nicolas’ wooden sculptures of dogs, bottle cans, seashells and fish complement Jean’s paintings of natural landscapes and home life. Together, the artists invite viewers into a world that is distinctly their own.

Take a closer look at select paintings and sculptures from “Les Sources” in the gallery above. The exhibition will run from February 20 to March 28.

For more exhibitions, Hajime Sorayama will display new artworks and sculptures as part of his intimate “Sex Matter” show at NANZUKA Tokyo this March.
