Craig Costello Displays New Gestural Paintings at Copenhagen's Eighteen Gallery

“Perfected through repetition, but never perfect.”

Brooklyn-based graffiti artist Craig “KR” Costello of KRINK is holding a solo exhibition at Copenhagen’s Eighteen Gallery. “New Work” features the artist’s new body of work featuring bold two-color pieces. Set against simple white backgrounds, dripping black lines give the work texture and movement, elevating Costello’s signature graffiti aesthetic.

“Minimalist, experimental, intellectual and primal,” a statement on the exhibition reads. “Black and white abstraction. Formal and yet technically avant-garde. Vibrant, refined, gestural — in and out of control. Arrested motion. Perfected through repetition, but never perfect. The work of Craig Costello is all about equilibrium. Surface, movement, paint, application and reaction.”

Check out installation views from “New Work” in the gallery above. The exhibition is open to the public from now until February 22.
