Peter Sutherland Launches "ESCAPISM" Exhibition at DOMICILE TOKYO

Alongside a book launch and collaborative apparel with LQQK Studio and Brain Dead.

Acclaimed skater, multimedia artist and filmmaker Peter Sutherland is the focus of a solo exhibition at DOMICILE TOKYO in Japan called “ESCAPISM.” The presentation features a diverse selection of Sutherland’s archival photography, projects and graphic ephemera under his CNY brand that is best known for poking fun at branded logos. The body of work spans four years since he founded CNY in New York City’s Chinatown neighborhood. A total of 19, mixed-media pieces are currently on display.

Coinciding with the exhibition is a book that chronicles his prolific career and creative ventures under CNY alongside special edition apparel made in partnership with LQQK Studio and Brain Dead. The wares encompass long-sleeve T-shirts and short-sleeve tees swathed in Sutherland’s recognizable lo-fi imagery and vintage-inspired elements.

Get a closer look at select works and apparel in the slideshow above and then head to DOMICILE TOKYO’s website to learn more. “ESCAPISM” is on view until December 20.
