Devin Troy Strother Releases Glossy 'Faker Lazer Favor' Prints

Hand-pulled editions in two distinct versions.

Devin Troy Strother is an artist based in Los Angeles, California who is known for working across a variety of mediums including mixed-media, sculpture, neon and installation. Strother is known for incorporating pop culture imagery alongside humor and language in his pieces that explore alternative racial narratives.

Strother recently teamed up with Copenhagen’s V1 Gallery to release two limited silkscreen prints as part of a series called Faker Lazer Favor 2020. The prints were created on the occasion of Strother’s solo exhibition with the gallery entitled “I’m just a painter and all i have is paint and maybe a lil bit of hope.” “In a mosaic of fragmented sketches of cartoonish heads and Nike logos, it combines the sensitivity of the drawing with the visceral and chaotic nature of Strother’s agit-graffiti and cut-out collage paintings. Drawing on various positions and strategies – from performance to pop art – the reflective surfaces compete for the viewer’s attention,” said the gallery in a statement.

Both prints have been hand pulled in Copenhagen in two glossy color versions: purple/gold and black/holographic. Each print measures 70 by 50 centimeters and arrive in editions of 45 with five artists proofs for €200 EUR (approx. $243 USD).

Check out both prints above and purchase them now on V1 Gallery’s website.
