Eddie Martinez Debuts First Sculptural Leaded "BLOCKHEAD LAMP" With AllRightsReserved

The geometric light piece is handcrafted with flat sheets of stained glass.

Eddie Martinez and AllRightsReserved have teamed up to launch the inaugural Blockhead collaboration, fronted by the Brooklyn-based artist’s first-ever sculptural leaded BLOCKHEAD LAMP.

Handcrafted with flat sheets of multi-colored stained glass, the geometric light piece arrives with Martinez’s signature motif complete with a pair of big monochromatic eyes. Thanks to the synergy between light, glass and bronze, the work serves as a brilliant example of the integration of art and functional design. BLOCKHEAD LAMP resonates with the viewer’s senses, emotions and intellect, and just like our individuality, Martinez leaves the motif open to interpretation. “BLOCKHEAD is something I started drawing and painting in 2005, it just became automatic,” he explained. “Even though it’s something I’ve experimented with in the past, seeing the mock-up for the lamp was super exciting. I like how it has a real antiquity feel to it, like a Tiffany lamp almost.”

BLOCKHEAD LAMP will be limited to only 100 signed and numbered pieces. Interested patrons may join the DDT Store global raffle until October 9 for a chance to purchase the work, which is priced at $13,000 USD.
