Caleb Flowers Creates Digital Art Zine to Celebrate 'We Are Who We Are' HBO Show

Contributions by  Kid Cudi, Blood Orange, Chloë Sevigny and many more.

Designer and creative multi-hyphenate Caleb Flowers recently launched a diverse digital installment under his BIGDATA projects label to celebrate HBO’s latest series called We Are Who We Are directed by Luca Guadagnino. The cast includes Chloë Sevigny, Jack Dylan Grazer, Alice Braga, Jordan Kristine Seamón, Spence Moore II as well as Scott Mescudi aka Kid Cudi.

Set in an American military base in Veneto Italy, the show explores various themes including friendship, first-love, identity, and “immerses the audience in all the messy exhilaration and anguish of being a teenager – a story which could happen anywhere in the world, but in this case, happens in this little slice of America in Italy,” as per HBO.

Taking on a zine-like curation in USB form, Flower’s expansive experimental selection features gigabytes of behind-the-scenes imagery, video, music, artworks and other digital ephemera from the series’ talent including Kid Cudi, Blood Orange, Chloë Sevigny and many more. Moreover, contributions from the show’s crew alongside artists and musicians are also spotlighted in the curation including model Aaron Phillip, musician Instupendo, creative director Quinn Wilson, writer Mimi Zhu, musician TWEAKS, visual artist Riya Hamid and musician Raveena Aurora.

“Flowers’ has expertly curated ‘We Are Who We Are’ x BIGDATA(TM), weaving the series themes of self-discovery and exploration with bourgeoning youth culture into the physical manifestation of a USB drive,” as per a press statement detailing the project.

Check out several contributions in the slideshow above. A downloadable zip format of the digital collaboration is now available on HBO’s We Are Who We Are dedicated site.
