Artists, Photographers and Designers Are Raising Money For Beirut

JW Anderson, Harley Weir and Tyrone Lebon are among those who have donated for those affected by the explosion.

Following the blast in the heart of the Lebanes capital earlier this year, Beirut Re–Store has been formed in a bid to raise money for those in need post-disaster. Through the selling of a curated selection of art and design from an array of creatives, the online marketplace aims to fund vetted NGOs that work for immediate aid and long-term recovery.

Featuring unique and limited edition photographs, paintings, sculptures, apparel, jewellery, publications, objects and more, prices range from £10 to £15,000 (approximately $14 – $24,000 USD) and have been donated by emerging and established names from across the creative industries. Names involved include Jonathan Anderson, John Pawson, Harley Weir, Gavin Turk, Nicolas Jaar, Tyrone Lebon and more.

Founded by French-Lebanese sisters Laura and Sophie Tabet, Beirut Re–Store will run until early January 2021, with 100% of the proceeds going to those working in Beirut. The list of NGOs includes the Lebanese Red Cross, Lebanese Food Bank, Beit El Baraka, Arcenciel and Ya Byout Beirut.

You can shop the Beirut Re–Store from October 2 and keep up-to-date with the initiative here.

In other news, Alexis Tyrsa has crafted large-scale murals at the new Nike headquarters in France.
