Final Fantasy Artist Yoshitaka Amano Creates Cover for 'Vogue Italia'

“No photoshoot production was required for the making of this issue.”

Vogue Italia has just unveiled the covers to its first issue for 2020. This time around for the new year, the fashion magazine has chosen to go photoshoot-free for the cover in efforts to promote sustainability. For the first time in Vogue Italia history, all seven covers have been donated by either an emerging artist, comic legend, or well-known artist. On top of the famous Yoshitaka Amano, known for his extensive work in the Final Fantasy gaming franchise, names like Paolo Ventura, Delphine Desane, Milo Manara, Cassi Namoda, Vanessa Beecroft and David Salle add their efforts in illustrating models dressed in Gucci.

Each cover reads the line “No photoshoot production was required for the making of this issue” at the bottom of the illustrations. It should also be noted that all budget saved from production costs will be donated to the restoration of the Querini Stampalia Onlus Foundation in Venice, damaged late last year due to flooding. Those looking to pick up a copy of January’s Vogue Italia can find its on newsstands on January 7. Head over to Vogue Italia to see the each of the seven covers.
