Banksy Artwork Collection Breaks His Own Record With $1.3M USD Auction Sale

A rare ‘Girl With Balloon’ print leads the collection with a $491k USD sale.

A 29-piece collection of works by the elusive artist Banksy has sold for a record-breaking amount of $1,371,195 USD at a Christie’s auction.

Leading the “I can not believe you morons actually buy this shit” collection was the 2004 print, Girl With Balloon. With an original estimate of up to $90,000 USD, bidders smashed the top valuation with a final sale of approximately $491,000 USD — a record-high for the artist. This iteration was the artist’s signature piece featuring a gold-covered balloon.

Another Girl With Balloon in the more commonly seen red heart iteration was sold for approximately $77,500 USD. Other iconic works such as Choose Your Weapon and Stop and Search were also sold at Christie’s.
