"Meet Me In The Bathroom: The Art Show" Visually Captures New York City's Gritty 2000s Rock Scene

Featuring over 25 artworks from the late Dash Snow, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Strokes.

A forthcoming visual exhibition is set to retell the uncensored story of New York City’s early 2000s rock rebirth. Entitled “Meet Me In The Bathroom: The Art Show,” the exposition is curated by director Hala Matar and author Lizzy Goodman, who’s utilizing the show as a counterpart to her critically acclaimed non-fiction book, Meet Me in the Bathroom: Rebirth and Rock and Roll in New York City 2001-2011.

Showcasing over 40 artworks, the exhibition will feature the likes of Ryan McGinley’s eccentric polaroids, Doug Aitken’s smashed 4th generation iPhone and other pieces from Urs Fischer, Dan Colen, the late Dash Snow and costume designer Christian Joy. Musicians heavily involved in that era will also be participating in the exhibition, including Karen O and Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Adam Green of The Moldy Peaches, Alison Mosshart of The Kills, Luke Jenner of The Rapture and The Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti, who is currently building a new interactive sculpture.

“Meet Me In The Bathroom: The Art Show” runs September 4 to 22 at The Hole, Bowery, New York City in collaboration with Los Angeles’ UTA Artist Space and presented by Vans.

In case you missed it, Chance the Rapper recently relaunched “The Big Store” pop-up exhibition.
