Low Bros Cover Deserted Supermarket with Retro-Futuristic Murals

As part of the Metropolink Urban Art Festival in Germany.

German artist duo Low Bros unveil their latest sprawling art mural in Heidelberg, Germany as part of the annual Metorpolink Urban Art Festival. Located in an abandoned U.S. supermarket, the outdoor art project portrays the pair’s signature retro-futuristic motifs across the establishment’s facade, entryway, and exterior columns. The bold visuals are a riff on a number of recognized brands including Pepsi’s logo, patterning from Marble Notebooks, as well as Penn Tennis Balls.

“The supermarket was the perfect playground for us to implement some of our new ideas. Recently, we started integrating products into our images to reflect our relationship with brands and their goods,” said the Low Bros. “To what extent can art and brands be combined, and what is our general relationship to the products that surround us daily and are so deeply rooted in our lives? All these relationships are often ambivalent. We use this product that makes us feel good or optimize our lives, but at the same time it might harm the environment, or we support an evil company.”

Take a look at the monumental outdoor mural project above and then visit Low Bros’ official website for more projects.
