Daniel Arsham to Launch Relic Sculpture Exclusively at Paddle8

Titled ‘Fictional Nonfiction: Archaeology.’

Daniel Arsham is teaming up with Paddle8 to release a new sculptural work entitled ‘Fictional Nonfiction: Archaeology, 2019.’ The collectible cast measures 8 x 5 x 1 1/2 inches and will arrive in an edition of 500.

The special edition was specially created for the American Friends of Museums in Israel. The work portrays an eroding printed book penned by famed English broadcaster and natural historian, David Attenborough. Altogether, the piece evokes the artist’s ubiquitous interplay of time.

Each edition comes with art handling gloves and is encased in Arsham Studio packaging with numbered authentication labels. The relic will be up for auction on Paddle8 this August 27. This isn’t Arsham’s first time casting publications with the artist uploading a number of previous examples on his Instagram portraying decayed variants of Vogue, The New Yorker, and more (depicted below).

In other editions, Futura is releasing two exclusive prints for BEYOND THE STREETS.
