Jaume Plensa Installs Massive Cast-Iron Sculptures in Spain
New permanent works by the acclaimed sculptor.
Award-winning sculptor Jaume Plensa permanently installed seven new large-scale sculptures at The City of Arts and Sciences, Valencia Institute. As part of a recent exhibition, the monumental outdoor artworks feature giant, cast iron heads of varying female subjects. The Barcelona-based artist is known for sculpting larger-than-life pieces that portray human body parts and letters. One of his more recent sculptures made its debut at the first Frieze Sculpture installment at Rockefeller Center in New York City this past April.
