Artists Louie Cordero & Ali Elmaci Unveil Surreal Paintings For "The Portrait" Exhibit
Taking place in Instanbul’s Sainte Pulchérie gallery.
Filipino artist Louie Cordero and Turkish artist Ali Elmaci join forces on a momentous exhibition entitled “The Portrait” at the Sainte Pulchérie art gallery in Istanbul. Both artists are known for their surrealist compositions that evoke haunting narratives. For the presentation, however, both have developed a chronological series of pieces that relay one dynamic story spotlighting the years-long relationship between the artists.
“Louie Cordero and Ali Elmacı have worked in their own critical style over the years; the two artists have developed their own styles in which humor, irony and striking colors blend with striking details. Their artistic stance supports each other in an original way,” said the gallery in a statement. “Their Imaginary universes are subjecting the society to expressive, extraordinary and uncanny questions without moving away from kitsch tones.”
