Ewen Spencer & Gabber Eleganza Join Forces for 'Hardcore Soul' Book

Also featuring a contribution from Mark Leckey.

Legendary British photographer Ewen Spencer has unveiled a new book in collaboration with Gabber Eleganza, a project by Berlin-based DJ Alberto Guerrini. Titled Hardcore Soul, the new project is designed to look at the current world through the work of Ewen Spencer and Turner Prize-winning artist Mark Leckey. Announcing the book, Gabber Eleganza described it as “a tool for reading today through the analysis of existing aesthetic and social-cultural realities, stripped of all rhetoric or nostalgia and revitalized through their fusion.”

Hardcore Soul is set to comprise of two different books, the first of which will be an 80-page collection of photographs by Ewen Spencer. The second part is a 16-page conversation between Spencer and Leckey, looking at the different subcultures they both take inspiration from. Hardcore Soul will release on May 16, and can be pre-ordered from the Gabber Eleganza web store now.
