Mark Gonzales' Iconic 'Tunnel Ride' Now Immortalized in Special Print Edition
Snapped by renowned British photographer, Skin Phillips.
In 1998, Mark Gonzales spearheaded a solo skate performance at the Städtisches Museum in Abteiberg, Germany. The legendary skateboarder recreated the moving art piece at Milk Studios in New York City last August.
To further commemorate the historic presentation, London-based skateboarding platform, Parade, teamed up with leading industry photographer, Skin Phillips, on a special print edition featuring one of his candid snaps of The Gonz taken during his ’98 show.
Entitled Tunnel Ride, the print arrives in signed and numbered editions of only 25. Sized at 20 x 15 inches each, the printed visual was shot on Kodak Tmax 3200 film and printed on Fuji Crystal Archive paper with a semi-matte finish.
“Skin Phillips has spent the last 30 years traveling the world shooting iconic skateboard photographs. The skateboarding he has documented on film has produced a deep archive of photography that resonates with every skateboarder,” said Parade.
