KAWS Reveals New "ALONG THE WAY" Exhibition in Hong Kong

In partnership with Hong Kong Contemporary Art.

While KAWS‘ massive HOLIDAY installation continues to make its way to Victoria Harbour, the Brooklyn artist has shares details on another upcoming exhibition in Hong Kong, just in time for Art Basel. Showcasing a decade of works, including a range of paintings and sculptures never seen before in the city, the upcoming exhibit brings together 37 of KAWS’ most iconic pieces to the Hong Kong Contemporary Art (HOCA) Foundation, curated by Italian art historian Germano Celant. The indoor and outdoor exhibition will host a familiar 18-foot-tall ALONG THE WAY figurine greeting visitors, along with a pink ACCOMPLICE (2010) sculpture and two pieces from the artist’s YOU series (2017).

“It is very exciting to see so many of my works gathered in one place and representing different phases and facets of my career,” quoted KAWS. “I have always wanted my art to connect with people – to have this opportunity to exhibit my works in the heart of Hong Kong’s bustling centre is great.”

Tickets to the exhibition will be made free to the public on HOCA’s website starting March 18 at 11am. The exhibition is scheduled to run at HOCA from March 26-April 14, 2019.
