Features

German performance artist Anne Imhof was recently announced as the latest creative for the BMW Tate Live Exhibition, becoming the the first artist to take over the entire Tanks section of Tate Modern. Titled “Sex,” Imhof’s work is an installation by day and a performance by night, both dealing with an overall theme of fluidity between two binaries

The space itself is part of the installation, with the structure and layout altered. This includes a raised platform in the South Tank, which is reversed in the East Tank. Similarly, the gallery’s Transformer space features sculptural works that disrupt the architecture, alongside paintings from Imhof’s Gradient and Scratch series.

Take a look through the large-scale installation in the gallery above, the four hour performances will continue each evening until March 31.
