Tate Modern Announces Largest-Ever Olafur Eliasson Exhibition

Featuring his ‘Your blind passenger’ corridor of fog.

Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson is set to bring a number of his immersive works to London’s Tate Modern later this year. The exhibition — titled “Olafur Eliasson: in real life” — is the biggest solo presentation of his work, as well as being his first major exhibition in the UK. There will be over 30 works on display, brought together from the last three decades of Eliasson’s career. As well as his artistic works, the exhibition will also feature Eliasson’s collaborations across other fields.

Arguably the stand-out work in the exhibition is Your blind passenger, a 45-meter long corridor of fog that was first seen at Arken Museum of Modern Art in Copenhagen nine years ago. Other well-known pieces include 1994’s Moss wall – made up of Icelandic moss — and the 2014 sculpture Stardust particle. “Olafur Eliasson: in real life” will open at Tate Modern on 11 July 2019 and will run until 5 January 2020.
