Artist James Evans to Debut New Photorealistic Oil Paintings

For a forthcoming NYC exhibit called “It’s Fun in the End.”

James Evans is an emerging visual artist based in New York City. Evans masterfully paints photorealistic depictions of often overlooked, inanimate objects. With these works, the artist aims to explore how “discarded, seemingly insignificant materials can hold a deeply personal narrative,” as per a statement.  Ubiquitous motifs observed across his oil paintings include crushed beer cans, condiments, and other personal effects.

Evans is set to launch a solo exhibition at Spring Place in NYC’s SoHo neighborhood. Entitled “It’s Fun in the End,” the momentous presentation will display life-sized oil paintings portraying objects that reference particular moments in the artist’s life alongside poetic text. Altogether, the works entice viewers to undergo quiet introspection.

View select works above and expect “It’s Fun in the End” to launch at Spring Place this February 20.
