Cody Hudson's New Minimalist Works Reflect Colorado's Natural Phenomena

As part of a new exhibition titled “I Came Home” at David B. Smith Gallery.

Following his A.I.R. program collection with Nike Running, multifaceted visual artist Cody Hudson now presents new minimalist works at David B. Smith Gallery in Denver, Colorado. Entitled “I Came Home,” Hudson produced a total of sixteen new paintings and sculptures made of powder-coated steel. The presentation marks the artist’s first installment with the gallery.

Done up in playful shapes and soft-edged abstract forms, the motifs of budding plants and majestic landscapes observed across the works draw inspiration from Colorado’s natural phenomena. “A continual development of the color palette and aesthetic, Hudson’s fluid studio practice encourages playfulness, balance, and visual harmony,” said the gallery in a statement. “I Came Home is an invitation into an environment of Hudson’s creation, inspired by Colorado yet uniquely his own.”
