For the first time ever, the NBA will hold its first exhibition at Art Basel Miami Beach next month. Titled “Momentum,” the show will transform the ballroom at the Nautilus by Arlo Hotels into an immersive experience dedicated to the intersection of basketball culture and contemporary art. The NBA, in partnership with Franchise Magazine and AMP, will showcase never-before-seen NBA memorabilia, the league’s rarest souvenirs and works by artists who incorporate “hoop culture” into their work. Photography, video and paintings will spotlight historical NBA moments.

Highlights of the activation include ‘Tunnel Vision,’ a video installation that commemorates the pre-game walks of NBA and WNBA players as they make their way onto the courts through tunnel entries and ‘Beyond the Arc,’ which unveils the exact sneakers worn during 16 league moments. Elsewhere, ‘Ascension’ features the most iconic dunks in NBA history. For the curated group show of contemporary work, exhibited artists include LeRoy Neiman, Andrew Kuo, Ashley Teamer and more.

Guests will have the opportunity to buy limited edition items created specifically for the event. Tickets for “Momentum,” which will take place from December 5 to 8, can be purchased here. In February, the exhibition will travel to Chicago for the 2020 NBA All-Star Weekend.
